Music to Live life to pt.1

I realized that at almost every moment of my life I have music playing somewhere. When I’m at home I usually have the computer speakers blastin, when I’m in the car the radio’s blasting, When i’m out and about i’ll have my iphone blasting and when that’s not blasting I’m bobbing my head to the ringtones of incoming calls. I decided to compile a list of what music I feel is best suited for the different aspects of my life. Lets Proceed.
Music to play when you’re breaking up with your Girl:
Donnell Jones – Where I wanna be.
I’ll be honest there have been only two chicks in my life who I really cared and loved and when we broke up I had to have some music to get through it. The reason why I’m not with them is because I didn’t want to be locked down. You know those feelings where you just don’t know where you want to be at in your life. Well Donnell Jones said it perfectly in that joint. All time favorite.
Music to play when you’re getting back with your Girl:
Donnell Jones – Where you are (is where I wanna be)
Musiq – Teach me how to love
Yea Donnell Jones had to go back up there lol. When I would get back with my girl (you know how niggas would break up and get back together with his girl) these songs are good to play when pleading your case with her. Where you are is a great song and really speaks of what a man is thinkin when he feels he needs his girl in his life. I like Teach me how to love because honestly, I’m kind of cluessless when it comes to love. I guess thats just the nigga in me fighting the honest black man who wants to be good.
Albums to Play When Ridin Solo on a long trip:
Kanye West – College Dropout
Lupe Fiasco – Food & Liquor
John Legend – Get Lifted
During my college years I had a lot of back and fourth trips from home so ridin I had to have albums that I could pop in, put on track one, and let it ride all the way through with no skippage. Kanye West’s College Dropout has to be one of the best albums ever. I wore that cd out. Every song on that album could have been a radio single and with the millions of albums sold off of that record I couldn’t have been the only one thinking that. Lupe Fiasco, to me, is in the Top 5 emcee’s of all time. When I first heard Food & Liquor I knew it was going to be something special. From kick push to He say she say to Hurt Me Soul every song has a purpose and meaning. I actually bought 2 copies of this cd one for the car and one for the crib. Great Music. I’ll be honest R&B isn’ t really my cup of tea; I rarely listen to a whole cd of singing. John Legend’s Get Lifted is definitely the exception. From the start of the Prelude to the last track Live it Up, Get Lifted is a melodic fantasy ride that captures every mood and emotion a guy goes through. I have to put it in the Top 10 of greatest R&B albums created.
So there you have it for part 1. I’ll prolly end up making 10 parts to this because as I said earlier Music is my life. I think I need to create a theme song for myself.
Until next time Keep it Playa.
